Barkbox

I have had the pleasure of art directing all the packaging experience for the continuity boxes for Barkbox and Super Chewer for the last year and a half. This role involves brainstorming concepts, creating color palettes, researching styles, and ensuring the box experience is cohesive from start to finish.

For this project, our goal was to create a fast-food restaurant vibe for Thanksgiving. We developed a comprehensive branding strategy, including colors, typography, and prints to be featured on all packaging and toys.

We wanted the box experience to feel like picking up food from a restaurant, so the exterior mimicked a chain eatery, while the interior portrayed the drive-through action, complete with playful illustrations and jokes to engage our audience.

The lower panel of the box showcased the toys as items on a menu, adding a creative and fun touch to the overall design.

Additionally, we crafted hangtags for the toys resembling sauce buckets and designed special packaging for the pie toy to enhance authenticity.

By implementing our branding across all elements, from the packaging to the toys themselves, we created a cohesive experience that truly felt like everything was coming from the same restaurant.

Shout out to the designers Julia Karraker and Julia Fitzsimons
as well as the toy team led by Derek Rippe
